The Phadima Section of Katlehong, Gauteng, is reeling from shock and grief after the brutal killing of 29-year-old Ditshwanelo Mokone. Her body was discovered in a nearby open field on the morning of July 28, 2025, just meters from her home.
Her aunt, Masentle Mokone, remembers seeing Ditshwanelo leave their house around 11 p.m. the previous night. “She walked out to the gate, and that was the last time I saw her alive,” Masentle shared, overcome with emotion. Although there was brief online activity from Ditshwanelo’s phone the next morning, she never came back.

The following day, the family received the heartbreaking news—her body had been found nearby, leaving the community in disbelief.
